Young pedestrian hit by truck in Columbia

A young male was transported by ambulance to St. John’s Mercy Hospital in St. Louis with undisclosed injuries after he was apparently struck by a 2009 GMC Sierra while crossing the roadway on Admiral Parkway (Route 3) at Valmeyer Road around 7:40 p.m. Monday.

A fire official who responded to the incident estimated the age of the boy to be 7 or 8 years old.

Columbia fire and EMS personnel assisted police at the scene. A Columbia police officer served as a traffic reconstructionist to assist with the investigation into this incident, which is still ongoing.

The condition of the injured pedestrian is not known at this time.
