While still providing local news in the same print fashion we always have since 1890, the Republic-Times has also kept with the times and embraced the digital age. Those wishing to receive breaking news emails can register for free at RepublicTimes.net. The popular NEWS FLASH e-mail, sent on Wednesdays and Fridays plus whenever breaking news arises, currently reaches nearly 5,000 addresses. Other special content is included on the paper's website, which took home first place awards from the Illinois Press Association in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2019.

The Republic-Times also offers an online version of its weekly newspaper at RepublicTimesOnline.com. Subscribers to the online version are offered the weekly newspaper from the comfort of their own computer -- complete with features such as single click text enlargement and easy page navigation. Readers can also find past articles of interest by simply typing in a keyword or phrase in an archive search.

The NEWS FLASH email is free for everyone, but only contains a small sample of news included in our weekly paper. Sign up on the home page.
