WJHS & CHS win ICCA Cheer State Championships
Local cheerleaders made history this weekend at the Illinois Cheerleading Coaches Association Championships in Springfield.
The Columbia High School cheerleaders won their second state title in two weeks, taking home the squad’s fourth straight ICCA trophy. The Eagles also won their fourth straight IHSA state title last weekend, making it eight state title trophies collected in the last four years.
The Waterloo Junior High School cheerleaders took home the program’s first state title on Sunday. The WJHS squad took first at the ICCA State Championships in the junior high division. The high school squad also competed over the weekend, but did not place.
