William E. Tutka | Obituary
William E. Tutka, 78, of Maeystown, died March 11, 2024, in St. Louis. He was born Sept. 20, 1945, in Granite City.
William was a member of St. John United Church of Christ – Maeystown, Professional Engineer Society, a past member of Maeystown Sportsmans Club, avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, and he enjoyed camping, especially hiking in Southern Illinois and Oregon. He was retired from Rhutasel Engineering.
He is survived by his wife Sandy Tutka (nee Wittlich); children Travis (Heather) Tutka and Brian Tutka; stepchildren Bryan (Dana) Snyder and Melissa Bredbenner (Roger Colbert); grandchildren Allison (Dave) Huff, Ashley Snyder (Stephen Sherwood), Andrew Snyder (Mira Todd), Addison and Avery Bredbenner, Chandler (Courtney) Tutka, and Brooke Tutka; great grandchildren Aubrey Snyder and Daxton Tutka and soon to be, Benjamin Huff; sisters and brother Sandy (John) Phillips, Jean (Bill) Runner, and Dave (Cheryl) Tutka; sister-in-law Darlene Grosse; nieces & nephews Stacy (Darrell) Longacre, Lisa (Eric) Bydairk, Christy Phillips-White, John Phillips, Jr., Justin Tutka, and Kyle Grosse; great-nieces; great-nephews; beloved cousins; and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Dalphine (nee Craft) Tutka, and niece Jeannie Middendorf.
Visitation is 9:30 a.m. until time of service March 16, 2024 at St. John United Church of Christ in Maeystown.
A memorial service will follow at noon at the church with Pastor Patrick Poole officiating.
