WHS bowling teams continue to dominate

The Waterloo High School bowling teams are rolling along this winter, taking down most every opponent they face.

Both the boys and girls squads are currently in first place in the Mississippi Valley Conference.

The WHS girls varsity squad sits at a perfect 8-0 on the season.

The boys bowlers are also lighting up the lanes, as their record is 9-1.

For the girls, Gabbie Hoge is having a great season, currently posting a 195 per game average, WHS bowling coach Matt Beck said.

For the boys, Hayden Bode is continuing his great season with a 214 average. He bowled a perfect 300 game at the start of the season.

“I am very happy with where we stand and the accomplishments we have made this season,” Beck said.

Counting Tuesday’s contests against Jerseyville (results not available at press time), the WHS girls bowlers have eight more games and boys have six until the regular season is complete.

Beck said the Jerseyville match will be a challenge.

“It will be very tough, as they have teams that are extremely talented and rosters that are deep,” he said.
