The Illinois Department of Transportation announced a left lane closure on the ramp from I-255 northbound to Route 3 southbound in Columbia on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.

These restrictions are needed to do bridge joint repairs on the structure, IDOT said.

IDOT District 8 Operations forces will make the needed improvements. Full access will be restored as soon as possible.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.
