Waterloo teen injured in skateboarding accident

A male Waterloo High School student is recovering at a St. Louis hospital from injuries that include a fractured skull following a skateboarding accident that occurred around 5:50 p.m. Sunday in the area of Sherwood Lane and Country Club Lane in Waterloo.

The teen was believed to have been riding on a skateboard that was being pulled by a vehicle when the accident occurred.

Waterloo police assisted Monroe County EMS with the incident.

The injured teen, Noah Thaggard, was transported to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis and then transferred to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, where he is currently. Thaggard, a WHS junior, suffered two skull fractures and a frontal lobe contusion in the accident.
