Waterloo man facing felony drug charges
Police executed an arrest warrant Monday on a 48-year-old Waterloo man suspected of dealing drugs in the area.
Charged with felony possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver (more than 500 but less than 2,000 grams) and possession of a firearm by a felon is Dwayne Metzger, 48, of Waterloo.
He remains in the Monroe County Jail with bond set at $50,000.
On Monday, members of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and the Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Southwestern Illinois arrested Metzger at 603 S. Church Street in Waterloo after conducting surveillance.
The arrest warrants were the result of a drug investigation in Waterloo conducted in May by the MCSD and MEGSI.
Additional charges are pending in the investigation, Monroe County Sheriff Neal Rohlfing stated in a news release.
