Warriors playing great baseball 

The Waterloo Warriors 18U squad is enjoying a successful 2024 campaign with the postseason about to take place in just a couple of weeks.

The Warriors, consisting of mostly players from Waterloo and Gibault high schools, compete in the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Association and are coached by John Green.

Entering play this week, the 18U Warriors are 10-0 on the season – including a perfect 9-0 mark in SLABA league action.

The top hitter for the Warriors is recent WHS grad Kaleb Buechler, who is hitting .833 (20-for-24) with 15 RBIs and 14 runs scored in eight games.

Will Simpson of Red Bud is hitting .632 (12-for-19) with eight runs scored in seven games. On the mound, he’s 2-0 with a 1.91 ERA.

Another recent WHS grad, Brian Lance, is hitting .531 (17-for-32) with 16 stolen bases and 20 runs in 11 games. 

In addition to Simpson, top pitchers so far for the Warriors this summer include recent WHS grad Jack Roessler (3-0, 0.82 ERA) and Gibault grad Brady Biffar (2-0, 1.50 ERA).
