Troy C. Blevins, 21, of Valmeyer, was arrested and charged this week with felony arson following an Oct. 12 fire that destroyed an old abandoned farmhouse and adjacent barn on the west side of J Road just south of KK Road near Hecker.

No injuries were reported in the incident. The owner of the property is Don Kloth of St. Louis. The old farmhouse was believed to have sat vacant for several years. No trespassing signs were posted on the property.

Blevins posted bond and was released from jail and given a preliminary hearing date of Dec. 12.
