The Republic-Times Team of the Week is the Valmeyer Lakers of the Mon-Clair League. The Lakers completed a league trifecta on Saturday by winning the playoff finals in two games over the Belleville Rockies. Valmeyer, last year’s playoff champs, also won the Valmeyer Midsummer Classic and finished with the top regular season record this summer. Pictured is the team with its playoff finals plaque.
