The Republic-Times Team of the Week is the Valmeyer Lakers baseball squad of the Mon-Clair League. The defending league champions are off to a hot start this summer, posting an 8-1 record entering play this week. Valmeyer won two against the St. Louis Spikes on Saturday before downing the Edwardsville Stags on Sunday, 9-0.
