Valirea Carline Love Shriver | Obituary

Valirea Carline Shriver, nee Love, 46, died Feb. 26, 2015, along with her husband and father-in-law.

Valirea is survived by her daughter Kayla of Springfield, Mo., son John of Elk Creek, Mo., her parents of Louisiana, Mo.; sisters Debra (Bob) Clark of Mahomet and Vicki (Ray) Everding of Columbia and brothers Bryce (Doris Jo) Love and Curtis Love, both of Louisiana, as well as aunts and uncles and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephew and cousins.

Valirea grew up in the Louisiana, Mo. area and graduated from Louisiana High School in 1989 where she was an accomplished musician, playing the flute and winning numerous honors in band. She was a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient and remained active as a Scout leader for her daughter’s troop in later years. She was a member of the National Honor Society, drum major and cheerleader.

She graduated cum laude from Southwest Missouri State University in 1993 with a B.S. degree in communications and a minor in journalism and production composition. After graduation, she married Carey Shriver on June 11, 1994. They owned and operated Shriver Companies together with Carey’s parents. She enjoyed going to the lake with family and friends and attending John and Kayla’s numerous events.

Valirea loved her family and her highest accomplishment was in being a wonderful mother to her two children. She was very involved activities to support them as a band booster and a Girl Scout leader and also belonged to SOROSIS locally. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend, hard-working and always looking for ways to help others.

A public memorial visitation will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. March 7 at Faith Fellowship Church in Houston, Mo.

Private funeral and burial services will take place at a later date.

A trust fund has been established for the future care and support of her two children at Landmark Bank. Donations may be made to Landmark Bank, fbo (for benefit of) Kayla and John Shriver; P.O. Box 440; Houston, MO 65483.
