The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Waterloo High School baseball standout Tyler McAlister. The senior righthander threw a complete game, one-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts to lead the Bulldogs to a 6-0 victory over Triad on Monday. With the win, Waterloo improved to 16-4 on the season and 6-0 in Mississippi Valley Conference play. McAlister is 6-1 with a 0.35 ERA and five complete games on the mound this spring and is also hitting .381 with 19 RBIs.
