Two-vehicle crash in Waterloo

Waterloo police and fire department personnel joined Monroe County EMS in responding shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday to a two-vehicle accident on Vandebrook Drive in Waterloo.

Vandebrook Drive was briefly closed to traffic following the crash.

Police said a 2006 Chevrolet pickup driven by 47-year-old Kevin Oeste was traveling east on Vandebrook when the truck lost control on an icy curve and slid into the oncoming lane, colliding with a westbound 2012 Chevrolet pickup driven by former Waterloo police chief Mike Douglas, 56, of Waterloo.

Douglas was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County for treatment of minor injuries.
