Two-vehicle crash in Columbia

The Columbia police, fire and EMS departments responded just before 5 p.m. Monday to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 3 and North Main Street.

Police said a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country minivan driven by James Agne, 81, of Columbia, was turning left onto North Main Street from southbound Route 3 when it was struck by a 1991 Chevy S-10 pickup driven by Anthony Toohey, 34, of Renault, which was traveling north on Route 3. The pickup had a green light to proceed through the intersection and the minivan had a yellow flashing arrow but failed to yield turning left, police said.

Toohey was transported to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County for treatment of unspecified injuries.
