Thursday morning pursuit in Columbia

A brief police pursuit took place early Thursday morning in Columbia.

The Columbia Police Department said that at about 5 a.m., an officer attempted to stop a black 2000 Honda Civic for traffic reasons. The car declined to stop and continued west on I-255 across the Jefferson Barracks Bridge into Missouri, at which point the pursuit was terminated.

A short time later, police located the car at an apartment complex in South St. Louis County and had it towed back to Columbia for an investigation.

Charges are pending.
