Teruko “Teddy” Ward | Obituary
Teruko “Teddy” Ward (nee Furuyama), 88, of Henderson, Nev., formerly of Renault, died Nov. 28, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nev.
She was born Jan. 2, 1927, in Yokohama-Shi, Kanagawa-Ken, Japan, daughter of the late Masao and Sai Furuyama (nee Koyama).
She is survived by her children Irvin R. Ward, and Grace Ward; grandchildren Jon Ward, Marie Ward, Amanda Ward, and Matthew Ward; three great grandchildren; niece Masako Fukuzawa; numerous other nieces and nephews.
Teruko worked at St. Clement Hospital in Red Bud from 1966 to 2003. Prior to that she worked at the
Monroe County Nursing Home in a healthcare career that spanned more than 47 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Irvin Ward Jr., son Michael Ward, and siblings.
Visitation is Dec. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m., and Dec. 11, from 8 to 9:45 a.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Dec. 11, at 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Renault, with Msgr. Daniel J. Jurek officiating.
Interment followed at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
As an expression of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Monroe County.
