This week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Columbia’s Sydney Rey.

The senior swimmer capped off her high school swimming career with a 30th place finish in the 100-yard backstroke at the IHSA State Swimming Championship at Winnetka on Friday.

Rey finished with a time of 59.55 seconds.
