No medical transport was required following a multi-vehicle crash on Route 3 at South Main Street in Columbia on Sunday afternoon.

The crash occurred about 3 p.m. Columbia police, fire department and EMS personnel responded to the site.

There was road blockage in the northbound lanes of Route 3 as crews worked to clear the crash.

Police said a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by James Aarns, 60, of Addieville, struck the rear of a 2013 Chrysler 200 convertible driven by Ellis Cook, 39, of Marion.

Aarns was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
