The Columbia and Dupo fire departments responded to the report of structure fire at 2220 Stone Gate Drive off Imbs Station Road near Dupo around 1 a.m. Sunday. A fire official said the family’s pet cat apparently had made its way into a furnace vent and burned to death, resulting in smoke throughout the home.
