The Republic-Times Team of the Week is the St. Louis Spikes of the Mon-Clair League. After placing third at the Valmeyer Midsummer Classic over the July 4 holiday, the Spikes have continued to play winning baseball. The team went 4-0 this past weekend – including three wins over the defending champion Valmeyer Lakers – to climb into first place at 15-8 entering the league’s final weekend of regular season action.
