Southern Illinois Select Baseball team

The Southern Illinois Select basketball team is this week’s Republic-Times Team of the Week. The team, which includes Gibault Catholic High School hoops standout Trevor Davis (pictured second from left), went 4-0 to win the NCAA-certified Talented Youth Basketball Association 17U championship in Atlanta, Ga.

The team defeated teams from Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and Indiana.

This weekend, the team plays at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo., in the Adidas Three Stripes Alliance before finishing off the season with the AAU International Championship at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.
