Shirley Mae Waite, 83, of Waterloo, died June 28, 2016, at her home in Waterloo.

She was born May 13, 1933, in Chicago, daughter of the late Elmer and Norma Bartels (nee Miller).

She was united in marriage to Richard Waite on May 11, 1957, in East St. Louis.

Shirley was a registered nurse. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo, the Waterloo Garden Club and was a volunteer at Morrison-Talbott Library.

Survivors include her children, Janet (Larry) May and Karen (Floyd) Erb, both of Waterloo, and Michelle (Leroy) Snow of Greentop, Mo.; her grandchildren, Jennifer May of Columbia, Lindsay (Doug) Bucklew of Waterloo, Jaime (Nick) Doerr and Brad Erb, both of Columbia, and Brittany Snow and Brenna Snow, both of Greentop, Mo.; her great-grandchildren, Demarcos Snow and Alana Bartin of Greentop, Mo.; and many friends and her dog, Cody.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

All services will be private.

The Creason Funeral Home in Waterloo handled the arrangements.
