Shirley L. DeVore | Obituary

Shirley L. DeVore, nee Braddy, 78, of Waterloo, died Dec. 27, 2014 in St. Louis, Mo.

She was born Dec. 31, 1935 in Mt. Vernon, daughter of the late Albert and Cecil Braddy, nee Shores.

Shirley enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. with her son in her retirement. She was a believer in Christ’s death, burial, and bodily resurrection and trusted in Jesus completely for her salvation. This belief was unshakable. She enjoyed sharing the good news of eternal life though Jesus Christ.

“…behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Cor. 6:2

The family would like to thank the staff of Oak Hill Nursing Home, Whispering Pines, for their professionalism and caring. May the Lord richly bless each and every one of you. Mom looks forward to seeing all of you in Paradise.

She is survived by her son, Steven DeVore; son-in-law Norlen Meton; sisters Betty (Charles) Owens and June Newton; along with several dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold DeVore, daugher Kimberly Meton, sister Patsy Tolley, brother-in-law Delbert Tolley, as well as other cherished brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from her husband’s family.

Visitation took place Dec. 30 at Quernheim Funeral Home.

A private graveside service took place at Walnut Hill in Belleville.

Memorials may be made to Oak Hill – Whispering Pines.
