Sheriff’s department makes cannabis find near Hecker

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department last week retrieved 13 illegal cannabis sativa plants that were discovered growing near a rural wooded area outside of Hecker. The pot plants were found on Wednesday, Sept. 17. The property owner alerted police to the plants.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Department Capt. Dennis Schreder said it is undetermined at this time who the cannabis plants belong to. The case remains under investigation.
