The National Weather Service in St. Louis has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for 17 area counties, including Monroe, until 7 p.m. Thursday.

A Wind Advisory has already been issued until midnight with predicted wind gusts of 20 to 30 miles per hour as a cold front moves into the area.
