Scott D. Yancey, 56, of Waterloo, died April 27, 2015.

He was born May 10, 1958, in St. Louis, son of Benny (Darlene) Yancey of Waterloo, and the late Rae Jean, nee Gatewood, Yancey. He was married to Linda, nee Schneider, Yancey, who survives him. They were married September 27, 1985, in Columbia.

His favorite pastimes were cooking, fishing, more fishing, and golfing.

Also surviving are his children, Jacob Yancey of St. Louis and Erin Yancey of Chicago; brothers Patrick (Carol) Yancey of St. Louis, Mike (Cheryl) Yancey of Edmund, Okla., and Paul (Barb) Yancey of Mooresville, N.C.; sister-in-law Valerie Schneider of Columbia, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, along with Trixie, their dog.

He was also preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Gene and Mary, nee Asselmeier, Schneider, and brother-in-law Stephen Schneider.

Visitation will be Friday, May 1, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia.

A memorial service will be held following visitation with Pastor Patrick Poole officiating.

Yancey was cremated according to his wishes.
