Savannah Wittenbrink | Athlete of the Week

Columbia High School girls basketball player Savannah Wittenbrink is this week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week.

The 5′ 10″ senior forward has helped lead her team to a 5-0 start to the hoops season. Last Tuesday in Columbia’s 67-64 thrilling overtime win against Carlyle, Wittenbrink put up a whopping 32 points, shooting 14-for-17 from the floor on the night. Wittenbrink leads the Eagles with 68 points in just five games so far this season, with a shooting percentage of 56. She also leads her team with 50 rebounds, averaging 10 per game.

Wittenbrink is also coming off a successful volleyball season with the Eagles, who went to the Class 3A Super Sectionals. She was named to the All-Conference Team in the Cahokia Conference Mississippi Division.
