Emergency personnel responded at about 2:35 p.m. Saturday to a fire in a trash can inside a garage of a residence in the 200 block of Goodhaven Drive off Bottom Avenue in Columbia.

The fire was reported to have been extinguished quickly, with EMS responders requested to check on one person for smoke inhalation.

Responding agencies were the Columbia Police Department, Columbia Fire Department and Columbia EMS.
