Sandra L. Metzger

Sandra  L.  Metzger (nee Colvis), 72, of Waterloo, died May 29, 2016, in Freeburg.

She was born Nov. 6, 1943, in St. Louis, daughter of the late Jesse and Margaret Colvis (nee Demster).

Sandra was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and was a longtime owner of Metzger’s Deli & Catering.

She is survived by her children Steve (Lisa) Metzger, Dwayne Metzger, and Bryan (Laura) Metzger; grandchildren Mallory (John), Alex (Bert), Samantha, Evan (Bekka), Trevor, Blake, Ellie, Reid, Melissa and Jayson; great-grandchildren Hailey, Luci, Hunter, Charlotte, Diego, Emiliana, Ziggie and Emilio; brothers Joe (Joyce) Colvis and Jesse (Jeannie) Colvis; sisters Carol (James) Milligan and Debra (James) Hankammer; brother-in-law Charles (Rosalie) Metzger; sister-in-law Sandra Metzger; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis E. Metzger, father- and mother-in-law Oliver and Elvira Metzger, and brother-in-law Edward Metzger.

Visitation is June 1, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home; and June 2, from 9 to 10 a.m., at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo.

Funeral services will be June 2, at 10 a.m., at the church.

Interment will follow at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery, Waterloo.
