Sandra E. Thompson, 80, of Waterloo, died July 14, 2024, in Waterloo. She was born April 12, 1944, in Red Bud.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church – Waterloo, VFW Auxiliary, lover of all animals and a Cardinal baseball fan.
She is survived by her sister Wendy Gassner and nephew Steven Jarvis
She is preceded in death by her parents Emil J. and Henrietta (nee Kaufmann) Gassner.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m. July 19, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo.
A memorial service will follow at the church.
As an expression of sympathy, the family prefers memorial contributions to: Hospice of Southern Illinois; or Immanuel Lutheran Church – Waterloo.
Arrangements are with Quernheim Funeral Home.
