Roland L. Muench

Roland  L.  Muench, 87, of Waterloo, died June 11, 2016, in St. Louis.

He was born April 10, 1929, in Baldwin, son of the late George and Hilda Muench (nee Winter).

He married Ruby Muench (nee Steinsieck) on Oct. 8, 1950; she survive him.

Roland was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the American Legion, Last Man’s Club, was a U.S. ArmyvVeteran, and was a former electric lineman.

He is survived by his wife; children Susanne (Rob) Stenger, and Steven (Caroline) Muench; grandchildren Bryan (Elizabeth) Metz and Tiffany (Craig) Schultheis; great-grandchildren Tessa, Kehrington, and Kegan Schultheis, and Claire Metz; brother Vernon (Evelyn) Meunch; sisters-in-law JoAnn Yarbourgh and Darlene Steinsieck; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Kenneth and Ervin Muench.

Visitation is June 15, from 6 to 8 p.m., and June 16, from 9 to 10 a.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.

Funeral services will be June 16, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home, Pastor Merritt Demski officiating.

Interment will follow at Waterloo Cemetery, Waterloo.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to the Lydia Boyer Benefit Fund.
