Rodeo girls make state

Four local girls will compete in the Illinois High School Rodeo Association State Finals taking place June 6-8 in Monticello.  

Payton Weber of Waterloo advanced to state in barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying and cutting. 

Kayleigh Luter of Waterloo made it to state in barrel racing.

Rori Unger of Waterloo also qualified for the state finals in barrel racing.

Brogan Schmitz of St. Libory made it to state in both barrel racing and pole bending.

Each of these local cowgirls will be competing for the top four spots in the state finals for their respective events to qualify for the National High School Rodeo being held later this year in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
