Richard “Dick” Walsh Adams | Obituary
Richard “Dick” Walsh Adams, 89, of Belleville, died Aug. 17, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 22, 1926, in Hibbing, Minn., son of the late Herman and Margaret Adams (nee Walsh).
He was married to Natalie Adams (nee Rogger).
Dick worked as a vice president of engineering for Sverdrup Corp. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in architectural engineering in 1953.
He served in the U. S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II; he participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy, France, on June 6, 1944.
He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace in Belleville, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife; children Kevin (Michelle) Adams of Independence, Mo., Mark (Diane Jordan Osborn) Adams of Glen Carbon, Claudia (Brad) Papenberg of Waterloo, and Christiann Adams of Belleville; grandchildren Greggory (Kristen) Adams, Kelsey (Christopher Eastridge) Adams, Caralyn Papenberg, and Kelly Papenberg; and great-grandchildren AnaJulia Adams and Natalie Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Brenda Adams, son Jeffrey Adams, and brothers Thomas Adams and Jack Adams.
Visitation is Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Belleville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Aug. 19, at the church, with Msgr. Jack McEvilly officiating.
Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville.
