Rescheduled games

With the snow putting many local fields out of commission for most of this week, all area teams have had to cancel games Monday and Tuesday with the high probability of cancellations Wednesday and Thursday. Below we update you as we hear of rescheduled games.

Baseball:

-Waterloo coach Mark Vogel says playing Friday is probably a stretch and is looking into scheduling a game Saturday. They have rescheduled Tuesday’s game at CBC for April 11 and Wednesday’s game at Althoff for April 25.

-Columbia has already rescheduled two of its games from last week with home games set for April 6 in a double-header against Althoff and April 19 against Roxana. The Eagles have also scheduled a double header at Valmeyer on Saturday at 10 a.m.

-Gibault does not expect to see the field until Saturday with the hopes of scheduling a game against Waterloo to keep players out on the field.

-Valmeyer plans to play next at home Thursday against Chester, tentatively plans to play New Athens at home Friday at 11 a.m. and has scheduled a double header against Columbia at home Saturday at 10 a.m.

Softball:

-Waterloo’s game at Cahokia Tuesday has been rescheduled for April 9.

Girls soccer:

-The East Alton-Wood River tournament starting Wednesday and running through the weekend has been cancelled. Gibault was participating in the tourney and will have its next game Monday at St. Pius X.

Boys tennis:

-Waterloo’s match against Triad Tuesday has been postponed to April 4.
