The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Waterloo Junior High School golfer Reese Kite. The seventh grader competed at the Illinois Elementary School Association State Golf Tournament in Peoria on Saturday. The seventh grader ultimately placed second with a three-over-par 73 after finishing regulation play in a three-way tie for first. The tournament was decided in playoff holes. She posted the top seventh grade score at state.
