Raymond W. Jung

Raymond W. Jung, 82, of Waterloo, died April 17, 2016, in St. Louis.

He was born Aug. 13, 1933, in Waterloo, son of the late Fred C. and Irene L. Jung (nee Reinhold).

Raymond was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo, the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.

He was formerly a member of the Waterloo Fire Department and he was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jenny Jung (nee Boehne); sisters-in-law Ruth Jung, Ardelle Hodgson and Marilyn Boehne; brother-in-law Carl Nobbe; and  nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Roger and Gene (Leone) Jung, and sister Audrey (Lavern) Doiron.

Visitation is April 20, from 3 to 8 p.m., and April 21, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.,  at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated April 21, at 1 p.m., at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Waterloo, Father Osang Idagbo C.M. officiating.

Interment will follow at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Waterloo.

As an expression of sympathy, the family prefers memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or Ss. Peter & Paul Campus Project Fund.

Andrea is a graduate of Gibault High School and the University of Missouri School of Journalism, the University of Missouri Harry S Truman School of Public Affairs and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville College of Education. She lives in Columbia with her husband and their twin toddler sons.
