Rainy rollover crash near Hecker

The Hecker Fire Department responded shortly before 6:20 p.m. Monday along with Monroe County EMS and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department to a pickup truck rollover crash on Route 156 at Edgewater Drive east of Waterloo.

The roadway was wet due to rain falling at the time of the crash.

No injuries were reported in the incident, which resulted in a black truck coming to rest on its side just off the roadway near a cornfield.

Police said the driver, a 17-year-old male, was traveling west in a 2000 Ford Ranger when the truck began to hydroplane, sending the vehicle into the ditch.

The driver was evaluated by Monroe County EMS on scene and was released to his parents.
