Columbia Police
Aug. 30
Maria R. Barton, 25, of St. Louis, was arrested shortly after 11 p.m. for DUI and improper turn signal on Rueck Road at Germania Drive.
Sept. 1
Andrea A. Wagner, 34, of Fairview Heights, was arrested shortly after 1:45 a.m. for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and improper turn signal on I-255 at milemarker 7.
Millstadt Police
Aug. 24
Shortly after 2 a.m., Erik S. Davis, 32, of Belleville, was arrested for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and improper lane usage on South Jefferson Street and Harrison Street. Robert E. Hintz, 32, of St. Louis, was also cited for illegal transportation of alcohol.
Missouri Highway Patrol
Aug. 31
A Smithton couple was injured in an evening incident involving a UTV at the Lake of the Ozarks. A 2021 Kawasaki UTV driven by Rona L. Welsch, 57, of Camdenton, Mo, was backing up to a concrete retaining wall at 212 Siesta Circle in Camden County, Mo. Bonnie S. Christian, 66, and Kevin S. Christian, 67, both of Smithton, were standing behind the UTV guiding the driver backwards when Welsch accelerated and struck both pedestrians. Kevin Christian was airlifted to Columbia University Hospital with serious injuries. Bonnie Christian was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital with moderate injuries.
Monroe County Sheriff
Sept. 1
A woman was injured when a carriage pulled by donkeys tipped over on Maeystown Road shortly after 4 p.m. No other information was immediately available.
Sept. 2
Emergency personnel responded about 11:20 a.m. to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Route 3 at KK Road south of Waterloo. Route 3 was limited to one lane of traffic as responders handled the incident. Injuries were minor in nature. Two people were transported to an area hospital. Assisting the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department were the Waterloo Fire Department and Monroe County EMS. The WFD cleared the crash scene at about 12:30 p.m.
Waterloo Police
Aug. 31
Cole M. Schaefer, 30, of Waterloo, was arrested for DUI at 1:45 a.m. on Park Street at Route 3. Schaefer was also charged with disobeying a traffic control light.
Sept. 1
Emergency personnel responded shortly before 3:30 a.m. to a single-vehicle injury crash in the 900 block of Route 3 across from Applebee’s Grill & Bar. A car went off the roadway and heavily damaged a metal utility pole across from Applebee’s. The Waterloo Fire Department responded for extrication of the driver, who was transported by Monroe County EMS ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The WFD also provided traffic control, as that stretch of Route 3 was closed to motorists for City of Waterloo utilities to address the damaged power pole.
