March 7
Kenneth R. Brooks, 46, of St. Louis, was arrested for an in-state warrant on Route 3 at West Bottom Avenue.

Hardigrew C. Bridger, 59, of Granite City, was charged with possession of methamphetamine.
Missouri Highway Patrol
March 7
A Waterloo man was involved in a crash that occurred about 3:30 p.m. on southbound I-270 north of Dougherty Ferry Road. The report states that a 2004 Hyundai Elantra driven by Matthew E. Fauke, 35, of Waterloo, accelerated from a stop and traveled around the left side of a parked vehicle that Daniel R. Bishop, 43, of Hazelwood, Mo., was standing outside of in Lane 1 of southbound I-270. The Hyundai left the scene following the incident, the police report states. Bishop was transported to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis by the Valley Park Fire Protection District for treatment of injuries classified as serious.
Monroe County Sheriff
March 3
Emergency personnel responded shortly before 9:45 p.m. to a crash involving a truck and a brown cow on Route 3 south of Gilmore Lake Road near Columbia. A 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Andrew T. Brewer, 28, of St. Louis, was traveling southbound on Route 3 just south of Gilmore Lake Road when a cow entered the roadway. The truck struck the cow, causing disabling damage to the front portion of the vehicle. The driver declined medical transport on scene.

Kimberly A. Bollwerk, 42, of Ballwin, Mo., was arrested for a Jefferson County (Mo.) warrant on Route 3 near Hill Castle Road in Columbia.
March 12
The Waterloo and Red Bud fire departments responded with assistance from deputies about 4:50 p.m. to a brush fire in the area of 5526 MM Road south of St. Joe. The fire was not near any structures but was reported to be spreading to the nearby woods.
Waterloo Police
March 8
At about 2:35 a.m., the Waterloo Fire Department and City of Waterloo electrical workers responded with assistance from police to the area of Sonic and Huck’s on Route 3 at North Market Street after a power line made contact with a crossarm on a city utility pole, resulting in a small fire. Firefighters secured the area and monitored the burning crossarm. “City utilities arrived quickly, killing the power, used one of our extinguishers on the crossarm and repaired the crossarm,” Waterloo Fire Chief Mike Lloyd said.

Mario Garcia, 53, of Waterloo, was charged with felony retail theft exceeding $300. Court records indicate Garcia allegedly took merchandise from Walmart, 961 N. Market Street, “as part of a continuing course of conduct” between Jan. 24 and March 8.
