Columbia Police

Jan. 26 – Christopher L. Feix, 43, of Columbia, was arrested on an in-state warrant.

Jan. 28 – Jason L. Brenning, 37, of Coulterville, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license suspended, no insurance and suspended registration on I-255.

Jan. 28 – Johnathan A. Lloyd, 24, of Imperial, Mo., was arrested on an in-state warrant at 701 Old State Route 3.

Jan. 28 – Ashley L. Wittenbrink, 31, of New Athens, was arrested on an in-state warrant.

Illinois State Police

Jan. 31 – Police, fire and EMS responded to a single vehicle crash with entrapment and injury on Route 159 about one mile north of LL Road near Red Bud at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Red Bud firefighters extricated at least one person from the vehicle, which apparently went off the roadway and struck a tree. An ARCH Air Medical Services helicopter airlifted one person to a St. Louis hospital. No other information was immediately available.

Monroe County Sheriff

Jan. 26 – Ryan Latner of Waterloo was arrested on an in-state warrant.

Jan. 26 – The theft of eight International Harvester tractor weights and three plow coulters from a property in the 3000 block of Ahne Road is under investigation.

Jan. 27 – Daniel Shackelford, 21, of Waterloo, was arrested for domestic battery on South Moore Street in Waterloo.

Jan. 27 – A report of identity theft on Country Club Lane is under investigation after someone apparently tried to open a credit card account in the local resident’s name.

Jan. 27 – A report of identity theft on Route 156 is under investigation after someone tried to open a Verizon account in another person’s name.

Jan. 28 – Brian K. Winters, 34, and Dawn M. Winters, 33, both of Columbia, have been charged with felony and misdemeanor thefts following an incident that occurred in the area of 1000 Merrimac Road. They allegedly stole eight “suitcase-type” weights weighing 67 pounds each and having a value in excess of $500. They also are alleged to have stolen three iron wheels in the incident.

Jan. 31 – Multiple “smash and grab” vehicle break-ins occurred in the YMCA parking lot early Saturday afternoon, with easily accessible items like purses and electronics among the items reported stolen. The windows of five vehicles parked outside the YMCA were broken, with purses and other items reported stolen out of four of the cars. A fifth car had one of its windows partially broken, but no entry was gained. Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to contact the sheriff’s department at 939-8651.

Jan. 31 – Timothy Piazza of Waterloo turned himself in on an in-state warrant.

Waterloo Police

Jan. 27 – Jennifer Langston, 31, of Waterloo, was arrested on a Monroe County warrant.

Jan. 27 – A break-in attempt in the 300 block of South Market is under investigation. Someone attempted to pry open a window screen with a screwdriver or other tool, but no entry was gained.

Jan. 28 – Chad Crank, 32, of Columbia, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for dangerous drugs.

Jan. 28 – Joshua Frierdich, 28, of Waterloo, was arrested on a Monroe County failure to appear warrant.

Jan. 28 – Nicholas Morgan, 31, of Columbia, was arrested for possession of cannabis and driving while license suspended on Route 3 at Illinois Avenue.

Jan. 28 – Derrick Smiley, 27, of East St. Louis, was arrested on a Madison County failure to appear warrant.

Jan. 29 – Jacob Jones, 21, of Dupo, was arrested on Monroe and St. Clair County warrants.

Jan. 29 – A 16-year-old male was issued a city ordinance violation for public fighting at Waterloo High School
