Columbia Police

Feb. 7
Columbia police, fire and EMS responded to a two-vehicle head-on crash on Main Street just outside the police and fire station around 8 a.m. The collision occurred just south of Crestview Drive, involving a 2003 Kia Spectra driven by Dorothy Venable, 63, of Dupo and a 2007 Chevy Venture driven by Christa Mahon, 39, of Columbia. The southbound Kia crossed into the northbound lane after the heat stopped working in the car and caused the wind- shield to fog up, obstructing the driver’s vision. Mahon was transported to St. Anthony’s Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. No citations were issued.

Matthew T. Eisenhauer, 33, of Du Quoin, was arrested for DUI, no insurance and speeding on Admiral Parkway southbound at Southwoods.

Feb. 8
A two-car crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m. on Admiral Parkway at Valmeyer Road. A 2007 Scion driven by Michael R. Weiser, 45, of Waterloo, turned in front of a 2005 Hyundai driven by Steven C. Bedwell, 48, of Dupo. Bedwell was transported to an area hospital by Columbia EMS. Weiser was ticketed for failure to yield at an intersection.

Feb. 10
Mandy N. Blosser, 33, of Columbia, was issued a notice to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge of unlawful practice for allegedly operating a massage therapy business in her apartment without a license on Dec. 29. Columbia police also notified the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation on this matter.

Monroe County Sheriff

Feb. 10
Police and EMS responded to a single-car rollover on Bluff Road just south of Hanover Road around 1:30 a.m. Deputies said a Pontiac Grand Am driven by Samantha Ahrens, 21, of Valmeyer, left the roadway and overturned onto its roof. A young child was inside the car at the time of the crash. Medical transport was refused, as Ahrens opted to have a family member take them in for a medical evaluation.

St. Clair County Sheriff

Feb. 6
The Hecker Fire Department responded along with police and EMS to a single-car rollover with possible injury on Floraville Road at Birkner Road near Smithton. The crash occurred around 9 a.m. No other information was available.

Waterloo Police

Feb. 6
Jordan C. Graves, 19, of Waterloo, was charged with criminal trespass to vehicle and criminal damage to property following a Dec. 15 incident at 1619 Lakeview Drive.
