Columbia Police

Feb. 22

Tony A.E. Webb, 42, of Columbia, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Tyler J. Hillyer, 34, of St. Louis, was arrested for DUI at about 1:20 a.m. on Route 3 at Route 158. Hillyer was also charged with speeding and pedestrian under the influence of drugs/alcohol. 

Feb. 23

Alyssa V. Paulson, 31, of St. Louis, was arrested for DUI at about 12:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Giffhorn Street. Paulson was also charged with failure to reduce speed. 

Feb. 26

Despite a warning to refrain from outdoor burning due to high winds and dry vegetation, the Columbia Fire Department responded about 6 p.m. to a yard fire between two residences in the 1200 block of White Pines Circle off D Road. A neighbor attempted to extinguish the flames prior to firefighter arrival, and the incident was reported to be under control within a short amount of time.

Millstadt Police

Feb. 13

At 3:33 p.m., Roy R.T. Prather, 53, of Millstadt, was arrested on an outstanding parole violation warrant out of Bexar County, Texas, in the 500 block of West White Street.

Feb. 21

At 11:10 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of South Jefferson Street. One of the occupants, Christopher J. Hagen, 48, of Lenzburg, was found to have an outstanding felony warrant for possession of methamphetamine, through St. Clair County. During the course of the investigation, suspected meth was found.  Hagen was charged with possession of meth.

Feb. 26

At about 2:20 a.m., an officer on patrol interrupted a vehicle burglary in progress on Veranda Court in the Parkview Manor subdivision. A gray Nissan Rouge with Missouri plates fled, nearly striking the police car. The officer pursued the vehicle to Route 163 and Town Hall Road. This same vehicle is suspected in vehicle burglaries in other communities, police said.

MEGSI

Feb. 16

Olivia N. Ross, 30, of Washington Park, was charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) following a Dec. 9, 2023 incident.

Feb. 21

Julia M. Irby, 46, of Waterloo, was charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Monroe County Sheriff

Feb. 18

Sara J. Bohannon, 32, of Red Bud, was charged with DUI shortly after 10 p.m. on Route 3 at KK Road. Bohannon was also cited for speeding. 

Feb. 20

Jonathan T. Wachtel, 25, of Cahokia, was arrested for DUI at about 2:40 a.m. on Route 156 at K Road. Wachtel was also charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage.

Feb. 21

Angela M. Ditch, 45, of Cahokia Heights, was arrested on a Monroe County warrant at Red Roof Liquor & Lottery, 301 Southport Drive, Columbia. 

Feb. 24

Dennis W. Bense Jr., 21, of Chalfin Bridge, was arrested for aggravated domestic battery after allegedly breaking a finger and pulling the hair of a male victim during an incident in the 3000 block of Bluff Road.

Red Bud Police

Feb. 23

A former Valmeyer resident was injured in a crash in Red Bud. At 8:50 p.m., Ryan M. Stamm, 36, of Red Bud, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet truck eastbound on East Market Street. As he turned left onto Orange Street, Stamm struck a bicycle ridden by Jeffery L. Herring, 46, of Red Bud. Stamm stated he did not see the bicycle as it did not have any light on it. Herring was transported by MedStar Ambulance to Red Bud Regional Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Waterloo Police 

Feb. 22

John D. Brewer, 68, of Waterloo, was charged with stalking/violation of a no contact order following a Feb. 16 incident in the 200 block of Osterhage Drive.

Darin D. Sensel, 33, of Prairie du Rocher, was arrested about 8:45 p.m. on Route 3 south of Vandebrook Drive for leaving the scene of a property damage crash, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and failure to give notice of a crash.

Feb. 25

Jessie W. Potts, 37, of Waterloo, was charged with possession of an open/incomplete title for a 2006 Nissan. He was also charged with driving while license suspended and no insurance. 

The Waterloo Fire Department responded at about noon to a fire in the pizza chimney at Hopskeller Brewing Company, 116 E. Third Street. A fire official said the small fire was contained to the ventilation chimney, with no damage sustained to the business.  Hopskeller remained open but without food service the early part of this week.
