This week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Waterloo-Freeburg Raging Bulldogs hockey goalie Peyton Hamilton. The sophomore has turned in an all-star caliber season for the ‘Dogs, posting several shutouts in net at both the varsity and junior varsity levels.

Hamilton recorded back-to-back shutouts Dec. 16 against Jerseyville and Dec. 23 against Bethalto. He was stellar once again in net in a 3-2 win Monday night over Edwardsville 1A. With the win, the varsity Raging Bulldogs improved to 9-4 on the season. The ‘Dogs tied East Alton-Wood River on Tuesday night, 4-4. The JV team is undefeated on the season.
