Conrad J. Pete

Conrad Joseph Pete, 46, of Waterloo, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, near Valmeyer following a logging accident.

Born in Wakefield, Mich. on Feb. 19, 1969, he was the son of Joseph and Virginia Pete, nee Taylor.  He was united in marriage to Tammy Gerovac; she survives.

Pete was a logger, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a member of the Little River Band of the Ottawa tribe of Native American Indians.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by children Austin Gerovac, Blake Pete and Christopher Pete, all of Waterloo; father-in-law and mother-in-law Dan and Gail Gerovac of Waterloo; sisters Joyce Pete of Hurley, Wisc., and Amanda Pete of Phelps, Wisc.; sisters-in-law Kellie (Eric) Ebert of Tucson, Ariz., and Nicole (David) Castle of Waterloo; granddaughter Brooklynn Nicole Gerovac of Waterloo; along with nieces, nephews and many friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 2 p.m., at the Wakefield VFW in Wakefield, Mich.

All other services will be private.
