Nordike named Hawks soccer coach
A Gibault Catholic High School graduate and former soccer standout is returning to lead a program he helped turn into a powerhouse in the sport.
Ryan Nordike, a 2002 grad, has been named Gibault boys soccer head coach.
Nordike was a four-year starter in varsity soccer for the Hawks and was part of the school’s first teams to go to the state tournament in both 2000 and 2001.
In 2001, Gibault placed third, and Nordike tied the state record for most goals scored at state with six. He was named All-Sectional and All-State his junior and senior years, as well as being named to the state tournament team his senior year.
As a freshman, Nordike was a member of Gibault’s 1999 state runner-up basketball team.
Nordike began his coaching career at PowerHaus in Columbia under the tutelage of John Martinez. In 2019, Nordike founded Metro Galaxy Soccer Club and is currently its director of player development.
