Nancy J. Graper | Obituary
Nancy Janet Graper, 77, of Red Bud, died Jan. 1, 2024. She was born on April 20, 1946, to Edward and Ruth (nee Rehmer) Finnerty of Waterloo.
Nancy grew up in Waterloo, where she graduated from Waterloo High School in 1964. She married David Henry Graper Jr. on Nov. 7, 1964, and together had four children and four grandchildren.
She enjoyed country music, craft fairs, spending time at the beach, traveling with her family and spending time with lifelong friends. In the summer months she could be found attending Grizzlies games. She was a longtime member of the Monroe Council for the Handicapped, participating in community events and fundraisers with her late brother Terry Finnerty.
She is survived by her son Kevin Graper; daughter Kathryn (Harold) Tillman; daughter Karri (Dan) Haggin; grandchildren Chelsea Tillman, Miles Tillman, Olivia Haggin and Caitlin Haggin; sister Barbara (Dean) Daley; nephews; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Henry Graper Jr.; daughter Kristi Lynn Graper; parents Edward and Ruth Finnerty (nee Rehmer); in-laws David H. and Mary Graper; and brothers Michael and Terry Finnerty.
Visitation is 10 a.m. until time of service Jan. 6 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo.
A funeral will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Merritt Demski officiating.
Interment will be at Red Bud City Cemetery in Red Bud.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; or Wounded Warrior Project.
