Emergency personnel responded shortly before 8:20 p.m. Wednesday to a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle with injury on Route 158 near Limestone Lane between Columbia and Millstadt.

The Columbia and Millstadt fire departments assisted Columbia EMS and Illinois State Police at the crash scene.

ISP said a 2010 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by 29-year-old Casey Kolmer of Waterloo was traveling east on Route 158 and went into the westbound lane to pass a vehicle in front of him, colliding with the tire of a westbound 2017 Jeep Wrangler.

Kolmer, who was cited for improper passing, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The driver of the Jeep Wrangler was not injured.
