A small fire was extinguished quickly in the 900 block of Mist Flower Drive in Waterloo early Monday afternoon.

The Waterloo Fire Department, Waterloo Police Department and Monroe County EMS responded shortly before 12:40 p.m. for a report of patio furniture on fire near a residence.

An arriving police officer was able to put out the fire with an extinguisher prior to firefighter arrival.

The fire was believed to have been caused by the sun reflecting off a mirror near the furniture.
